Their success story is absolutely unique in the European music landscape and proofs impressively, that girl power shouldn’t be underestimated… The No Angels began their career in 2001, winning the first season of the German “Popstars”-Show and making the whole nation falling in love with their talents and passion for music and dance. Their debut single “Daylight In Your Eyes” and the first album “Elle’ments” conquered the #1 positions of both Media Control Single and Album charts, staying there for many weeks – but that was just the beginning. Sold out nationwide tours, dozens of music and media awards (Echo Award, Bambi, Golden Camera) and Gold- as well as Platinum awards completed their success. With the following albums “Now… Us” and “Pure” (both charted directly at No. 1) as well as the extraordinary swing album “When The Angels Swing” the No Angels left critics impressed and simply speechless – at this point, the girls had proofed every prejudice and cliché of “being just a casting band” wrong. These ladies rocked a whole nation – nobody could resist their tempting, tender and energetic pop sound… After a three-year-break the No Angels are presenting now their brand new single “Goodbye To Yesterday” and the new album “Destiny” and they don’t leave any doubts: No Angels are back! And ready to write the next capture of their story!
“We are so proud to be back together! Every one of us is proud to be a part of No Angels – this feeling is very powerful and fulfilling”, Lucy describes the emotions of the band and Nadja ads: “We’ve always knew, that we’ll come back together and continue as a band. Actually it feels like a new start. In the past three years every one of us has grown and tried new things. Now we are returning with this knowledge, this experience, to walk the next steps as a family again.” The fast pace the No Angels have kept up since their debut, did improve the four workaholics and passionate performers and laid the ground stone for the new capture: “The group was always our priority and we did everything to make it better. We make great demands on us, our songs and our shows. Of course there have been discussions, but they were important as well! In the past every one of us has tried to bring in her style and her strength. It was always a little competitive, even if that sounds funny. But we became more relaxed”, Sandy explains and Jessica continues: “Through our solo projects we had the chance to show what we are able to do beyond the group - and kiss & hug our egos a little bit. Now it’s not about proofing what each of us also can or likes – it’s about what we as No Angels, as a unit, as a team are capable of in the year 2007!”
These four ladies know exactly what they want and say it out loud: “The decision to come back together was very easy to make. ‘Of course No Angels are coming back!’ But we didn’t want to leave anything to coincident. Everything had to be like we wanted it to be. We are friends for such a long time now, we know each other very well and now we can combine the creative, artistic and business sides of our careers in the best ways”, Nadja describes the first steps of the No Angels-Reunion. The highly anticipated new album “Destiny” represents their deep friendship and strong union: “We don’t feel any pressure, because we walk this way together. With the solo projects the responsibility laid on the single person. Like.. it took me much longer to decide what is right or wrong for my album. As a group we have four opinions, four voices and four personalities, that all know instinctively what is best for No Angels. It’s easier and feels great to be back in the studio with the girls”, Sandy tells about the big differences and Lucy ads: “Maybe that is one of the secrets of our success: We feel instantly what fits our group. Of course the music landscape has changed and developed further in three years, but we are on the same page. That’s the thrill about pop music: It changes but the structure stays the same. Our new songs on the album show, that we didn’t stop. We moved on as well, but still they are 100% No Angels.”
The perfect mix of energetic up tempo songs that leave u singing the track along instantly, beat-driven groovy tunes and beautiful majestic ballads underlines the variety of their repertoire: “Well, we have our first favorites on the album, but it’s kind of changing every day, because there are so many emotions. Every song is special to us. We celebrate that as a group. Each of us has given her strength and talent into the album. To have that possibility was great”, Jessica tells about the recording sessions in the studio and the other girls agree: “We realized the whole creative process differently. There was this lightness in the air and we had so much fun together. It may sound trivial, but for us the fun, the delight to sing and to experience all this together is the most important thing. We want to achieve something that nobody can take away from us. We are a familiy!”
The No Angels present their new single “Goodbye To Yesterday” and the brand new album “Destiny” and give their fans a first sweet taste of what more is coming up in 2007: “We are ready! We can’t wait to go on tour and show the people that is was absolutely worth it to wait for us!”
